Pakistan Steel Re-rolling Mills Association (PSRMA) has threatened to cancel the dealership of Pakistan Steel Mills (PSM) as against the harassment to the dealers by Federal Investigation Authority (FIA).

It was decided in a hurriedly called meeting of PSRMA general body at Site Association of Trade and Industry Monday. Pakistan Ship Breakers Association (PSBA) also participated in the meeting.

Chairman PSRMA, Asmat Pervaiz while talking to Daily Times condemned the arrest of businessmen by FIA saying if this type of harassment is inflicted on their respectable and genuine consumers, then "they are left with no option but to quit getting any materials from PSM, cancel their dealership and work on alternative raw materials", because if this will go on, no wonder that buying today from PSM will be asked by agencies in future and again false and unsubstantiated cases will be made against genuine consumers. He said that including renowned businessmen - Deewan Abu Obaida Farooqui and Deewan Rehan Farooqui of Deewan Steel Mills, four people have been arrested in PSM case so far. He said that PSM sold its billets according to its sales policy as per terms and criteria laid by the mill only and no consumer dealer has any say in this regard.
